02 / FIX · SPEED RESCUE

fast store, or
expensive store.

Two weeks on what's actually blocking your first paint: dead apps, render-blocking scripts, oversized hero images, and a theme carrying five years of patches. Same features, a third of the weight.

where the seconds go.

APP DEBT

Twelve apps installed, four still in use. The other eight are still loading their scripts on every page.

IMAGES THAT WERE NEVER RESIZED

A 4 MB hero image sent full-size to a phone. It's the single most common second we win back.

EVERYTHING AT ONCE

No lazy loading, no critical CSS, third-party scripts in the head. The browser is doing your work in the wrong order.

what we do.

an honest app audit

Every app laid out with what it costs, what it loads, and whether forty lines of theme code could replace it. You decide, we remove.

a lighter theme

Critical CSS inlined, scripts deferred, unused Liquid loops removed, sections rendered server-side instead of in the customer's browser.

images done right

Correct sizes, correct file types, lazy loading below the fold, and reserved space so nothing jumps while it loads.

a before and after report

Real-world data from actual visitors, not a lab score. You see what changed, what it earned you, and what we deliberately left alone.

what's included.

Full audit of apps, scripts, images and Liquid across your five busiest templates
Apps removed, with theme code for anything you still need
Critical render path fixed: CSS, fonts, scripts and third-party tags
Image pipeline fixed across the whole catalogue, not just the homepage
Core Web Vitals measured before, after, and again two weeks later
A written summary of what we did, and what we couldn't fix without a rebuild

IF YOUR THEME IS PAST SAVING, WE'LL SAY SO IN WEEK ONE AND STOP BILLING.

two weeks.

DAY 1
measure the real store, on real devices
DAY 2
agree what goes and what stays
DAY 3 TO 5
the heavy lifting: apps, scripts, images
DAY 6 TO 7
measure, adjust, report, hand over

questions? good.

will anything look different?+

Only if you want it to. The point of a rescue is that customers see the same store, just faster.

what if the apps are functionally essential?+

Then they stay. We only remove what we can replace or what nobody's using, and we show you the list before touching anything.

how long does the result hold up?+

Until someone installs four new apps. We leave your team a short list of rules so they can keep the store fast on their own.

what's a good lighthouse score for a shopify store?+

Above 90 on mobile for your product pages is strong, 70 to 90 is average for most Shopify stores, and below 50 usually means apps or images are dragging things down. We measure on real devices and real product pages, not an empty homepage.

what are core web vitals and why do they matter?+

The metrics Google and your visitors both use to judge speed: how fast the first content appears, how quickly the page responds, and how stable the layout stays while loading. Poor scores cost you both conversion and ranking.

how much faster will our store actually get?+

Depends on the starting point, but 1 to 2 seconds of load time is typical, with outliers up to 3 seconds on stores heavily loaded with apps. We show the difference with real-world data, not a lab score.

is this the same as a full new theme?+

No. A rescue works with what's already there and fixes what's slowing it down. If the theme itself turns out to be structurally broken, we'll say so honestly in week one and quote a rebuild instead of continuing to bill on something that can't be saved.
